Ask “Mr. Music”

FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 4, 2019

DEAR JERRY: I have a set of four vintage (1964) Remco "Official Beatles" dolls. There is one little doll of each member, holding their instruments (guitars and drum). Each doll has a reproduction of that member's signature, and each is still in its original cardboard box with an unbroken cellophane window.

Considering the popularity of Beatles collectibles, I would think these would be in demand. But before I put them on the market, I would appreciate your estimate as to what price range they would be likely to sell for.

Also, would it be better to offer them individually, or keep all four together as one lot?

DEAR EDDIE: That you have the complete set of "Official Beatles" Remco dolls is remarkable, but that you still have them with the instruments and in the original boxes is truly remarkable.

Based on the description you have provided, if consigned to one of the major entertainment auctions, I would anticipate a sale in the $800 to $1,200 (U.S. dollar) range.

My recommendation would be to keep the four-doll set intact.
